The India is a large country with many cultural, social, geographical and religious diversities people of many different religious live here with full independence and practice their religious beliefs freely. From north to south and east to west. We can notice many differences in cultural practices and living styles.

India is basically a country of villages. 80% of our population lives in villages. Although in the big cities there is lot of shining glitter but the base of our economy, which is agriculture, is in the villages only.
We may be different in our religious beliefs or our dressings or language, but by heart we are all Indians.
In ancient Indian society, a very high status was given to a woman. During the early Vedic period, she enjoyed perfect freedom and equality. Women played a key role in the Indian struggle.

Some of the important points of indian culture is:-

·       The Festivals in India

India is a land of festivals. Here many festivals is celebrated through out the year. Dussehra is 2nd most important festival before Diwali.
 It is celebrated 20 days before Diwali. On this day, Lord Rama killed Ravana, the king of demons in Lanka.The people celebrate the victory of trust and justice over unjustice. The ceremony of celebration still persists.

·       Sciences behind Temples

There are many historical reasons and sciences behind the temples in India. Architecture behind the oldest temples have their secret beliefs. Every state have many temples and each one have the history and people use to visit these temples to understand the logic behind the sciences of Temples in Indian Culture. Like Mahabalipuram Temple in tamilnadu and Kailash Nath temple in Ellora.

In India there are different major religions like Hindu, Muslim, Sikhs, Christian. They all have their different beliefs but they live in brotherhood and helps each other at difficult situations without any discrimination. About 80 % of population is Hindu  in India ,7% Islamic, 3% Christian, 10% Sikhs religions but they celebrated all religion festival all across India together.

 There are many different traditional clothing in India. India is famous for their ethnic wear in different states and different dresses. Kashmiri Dress is one of the famous or favourite ethic dresses all over the India.
Rajasthan is also famous of their Marwari dresses and Gujarat is famous for their sarees and Lehnga-Choli.

 India is known as Land of spices. There are many varieties of species and tastes in all over India. In every state, they have different taste for example, Rajasthan is Land of spicy food where as Gujarat is known for their gujrati taste like Dhokla and Khandvi.

Cow is one of the holy animal in India. Indian people do worship of cows in different states in different ways. Million of hindus worship cows and gives her the status of their Mother.

By visiting these places, we know about important historical facts about Indian culture. We learn many things about art, literature, life history and sciences of past ages.
